Testimonials

"When I began my coaching sessions with Michelle I was in the very beginning stages of reframing my career after a long period of burnout. I felt lost and wasn’t even sure where to start. Michelle immediately empathized with my journey and provided the guidance and advice that I needed to start reframing this uncertain time in my life. With her guidance, I even managed to change the way I was approaching the entire situation - and this was such a key step for me. I can't thank her enough for getting me to think deeply and wholeheartedly to find the answers within as to what I have been looking for all along in pursuing my dream job. Her insights and guidance were so helpful to me - I will never forget her kindness and voice of experience. “

Thank you, Michelle for a great experience and outcome after each coaching session with you. As a professional for decades, it amazes me that I still have obstacles that inhibit my most confident self when work gets so busy and I feel overwhelmed. You not only provide a safe space in which I can share my vulnerabilities without judgement, but also bring a positivity and stalwart presence that I really appreciate. You ask great questions that allow me to reveal my capacity, reframe negatives and allow me to create a more empowered sense of my Self, for my Self. I always feel great after we meet and know that I am in experienced hands in our coaching together. Thank you sincerely for being exactly what I need.”

I cannot express how helpful Michelle's coaching was for me. She helped me hone in on my goal and challenged me to express it clearly. More importantly, her coaching guided me to understand what achieving that goal would feel like. Michelle's work truly impacted me and kick-started important and transformative changes. I am so deeply grateful.”

I am a surgeon with a busy clinical practice and for the past 10 years have also held a significant leadership role that has consumed a great deal of my time, dealing with a variety of organizational, interpersonal, mentoring, and planning challenges. This leadership role is coming to an end soon and I was feeling unsure of what I should do to fill this void. I therefore engaged Michelle Jackman at Coframe Physician Coaching over a 6-month time period in order to help me navigate this anticipated transition in my professional life.

Rather than jumping directly into the issue at hand Michelle started by challenging me to carefully identify my core personal values. She then had me list the things that I expected to lose once my current leadership job ended, and secondly the possible opportunities that might arise. She asked me to try to balance the losses against the gains and to try to see where these fit within the context of my core personal values. She never told me explicitly what she thought I should do but rather collated and summarized my answers and then provided me with several different organizational and cognitive frameworks aimed at helping me reach solutions that resonated with me. Even more exciting was the realization that I could use these same strategies to sort out other professional and personal dilemmas in the future.

Overall, this process with Michelle was very insightful and also, at times, surprisingly emotional. Michelle always made me feel comfortable and never judged as we worked through the process. I would strongly recommend Michelle as a professional coach to other physicians who are facing professional challenges or simply seeking to gain more professional fulfillment and self-awareness.

Thank you, Michelle!”

I connected with Michelle when I was pursuing a change in my field from Nurse Clinician to Bed Flow Coordinator. Michelle helped guide me to better understand my own values and what I was looking for in this new career path. The conversations I had with her helped me tighten and frame motivations to moving into this new role. She took the time to get to know me and through that helped me pull out my strengths for the role. Michelle’s specific questions helped me think broader about who I want to be moving forward and what my ultimate vision is for the role itself and me in it. Having all this together made my interview, and made me feel confident about myself going into my interview at this career path. It is obvious she is passionate about what she does. She supported our conversations with visual tools to help me better understand how to express my vision during the interview process. I am certain that connecting with her before my meetings helped get me my new job. “

“Michelle was my preceptor and mentor during my residency training program in Calgary. At the time, I was considering an opportunity to transition into a surgical specialty.  Michelle's compassionate and personable approach helped me explore this very challenging decision.  These conversations were pivotal in terms of clarifying my career goals. The process renewed my sense of purpose and strengths that drew me to medicine initially.  These conversations were one of the factors that led me to my decision to pursue my current career in Pediatric Plastic Surgery.”

“When I heard Dr. Jackman was offering MD coaching sessions, I was excited to book a Discovery Session with her to learn more about MD coaching and how it could help me grow as a person and physician. During our one hour session, Dr. Jackman helped me to frame my goals, opportunities, aspirations in such a way that I could make decisions that otherwise seemed very challenging before. This was likely the most productive hour that I have spent in a while.”
